Step Three:
Perform all network updates from Microsoft - this means downloading service packs, patches and bug fixes (MODEM connections may require that this step be delayed for reasons of size of downloads exceeding practical time limits).
Step Four:
Manual registry check of run configurations and optimizations to memory management and priority controls, Start menu optimization, three process checking utilities to decrease processor load, and finally context menu changes to the operating system effects and other default slowdowns added in by Microsoft that you don't need.
Step Five:
Network performance optimization: Protocols checked for service security, bandwidth efficiency and enhancements to network accessibility are made where applicable. Router security is checked for security issues.
Step Six:
The computer is restarted to check for any issues which may have arisen due to the enhancements, and any discovered problems are corrected and the computer is restarted again. Upon problem free optimized startup a final internet connectivity, email send/receive check and printer check is conducted and a disk de-fragmentation is begun.
Step Seven:
The bill is presented and any advice is given if necessary regarding areas in which bottlenecks can be removed to help speed computer or network/internet performance.
